In September 2022, we supported 5 x young people from Black and ethnic minority background start University studying: - Physics at Sheffield University
- Product Design at Loughborough University
- Degree in Midwifery at University of Nottingham
- IT at Sheffield Hallam University
- Psychology at Birmingham City University
- 2 x young people have started Apprenticeships in engineering
- 3 x young people have progressed to 6th Form
- 1 x young person have been elected as a Deputy Junior Mayor for Derby for 2022
- 5 x young people attend Derby City Voices in Action Youth Council
- 3 x young people have been mentored to become junior Trustees and sit on our Board of Trustee
- 4 x external young people are provided with voluntary work experience 90% attendance to all sessions achieved in 202
Challenges faced by young people in our communities
41% of our participants experience barriers to progression. These barriers may include living in an area of low social mobility, low income, poor mental health, behavioual, emotional or social difficulites and low educational attainment.
